Here is an update on our friend Annie who was shot twice and left for dead in a snowbank in Northern Minnesota. She is out of the hospital and in a foster home.

But then I come when I feel like it. Look at all our snow! I'm loving it!

Annie's Story

Little Orphan Annie was found in a snowbank near Glenwood, MN and brought to the local Humane Society by a Good Samaritan. It was discovered that she had been shot twice! One rifle shot went through her neck, including through her esophagus. The other went through her abdomen and exited through her chest, fracturing a rib and puncturing through her diaphragm. She was transported down to the ICU at the U of MN Vet Hospital. This is the only place with the specialists who could do the esophogeal surgery should she require it.

Annie is incredibly sweet and beautiful -- a dark red, petite female. She is young --about 2 years old they think. Despite having to increase her pain meds for a painful tummy, she was wagging her tail at visitors.

The latest update from the RAGOM website is this:
Annie is likely to be released in the next day or two! Her drains have all been removed. Her IV is still in for antibiotics but they are switching her to oral meds today. She is eating hamburger and rice. The swelling is down in her legs and the holes are not leaking fluid anymore. Her pneumonia is not resolving very quickly and her protien is slow to rebound. Dr. Gray said she is trying not to pay so much attention to the lab results and is trying to look at the patient instead. And Annie looks pretty bright today! Lots of tail wags and nose pushes for pets. Annie's Christmas stocking is filling up with treats! She is not too interested right now (she has hamburger after all) but we will make sure she gets to take them home with her.

A sad story with a happy ending!

Brrrrrrr!

It has been so cold and snowy lately that I get to spend very little time outdoors. My feet get really cold and I can't walk. My dogwalker uses booties on me but my mommy can't get them on me correctly so I keep losing them. This morning it was -11 degrees. Up to 4 inches of snow predicted for tomorrow.



I'll just stay inside and play with my new toy. Keep warm and safe guys! And those of you who live in the warm: PPFFHHHTTT!

As some of you know, my beautiful 15 year old niece,Alyx, lost her Mom this April. She is just now starting to deal with the loss as the holidays arrive and was hospitalized tonight because she had a "breakdown". She has always been sweet and loving and we had some good times together this summer. Please keep her in your prayers.

The Twins

Mommy got to see the twins the other day and they were scared of her!! They ran to Papa so fast.



They did eventually warm up to her by the time they left.



I just stayed at home and watched for mommy from the steps.

Hey I found a new place to perch. Mommy's computer table.



There is a windowsill behind me that I like to perch on top of also.



And yet another option to perch on.... the couch! Why didn't I think of that before?



Who even cares about that stupid glass table anymore!



I can even look out the window from the stairway, so this is sort of a perch too.
