As some of you know, my beautiful 15 year old niece,Alyx, lost her Mom this April. She is just now starting to deal with the loss as the holidays arrive and was hospitalized tonight because she had a "breakdown". She has always been sweet and loving and we had some good times together this summer. Please keep her in your prayers.

Our mom lost her dad at 16, and said she knows how hard it is but she got proof positive that her dad was still with her and watching over her that first Christmas season. We're sure that your niece's mom is doing the same, and we'll say an extra prayer that she'll send Alyxa a sign this season. Absolutely.
This hits home for me, as day after tomorrow, my kids and I lost their dad to heart problems. It'll be four years this year...and though time does make things easier, and the kids (who were 12 and 15) have found ways to turn their dad's life into a celebration rather than focusing on the tragedy of the loss of their dad...it'll always be their, haunting their holidays.
I know I was fortunate with my two...they did not have alot of the problems one might expect, primarily I think because their dad was so insistent on Living despite his illness.
I hope she can find her peace. I am glad she is getting help. The holidays are truly a dark time for a kid who has lost someone, too damn young.

Snooter kisses are great medicine for the heart. We will be thinking ofAlyx and hoping for the best for her. We have a little friend who lost her daddy this fall under very sad circumstances. She is only five and her brother is seven. Sometimes life just doesn't seem fair. All our very best to Alyx and family.
